The Drop

Congratulations!

Today in Year 7 we had an Open Day where parents visited our classrooms and viewed some of the great work we have done this term.  One of the high lights for the day was sacrificing eggs.  Each member of Year 7 had to protect a raw egg in packaging  from a 4 metre drop off a verandah in our school.  Success rate was very high!  Very creative designs.  Well done!

This is a great time to also congratulate the four teams who prepared and presented debates in front of the whole year level and parents today.  They did a fantastic job and all three teachers, peers and parents were very proud of their great team work and preparation put into their topics.  Thank you for representing us - Year 7 - so well!  Congratulations!

Thank you to all parents who could visit us today and share our learning experiences with us.

Monday, August 9, 2010

Adding to words ending in the letter 'e'

1.  If the ending starts with a consonant, we usually keep
the e     eg.  safety, lonely, movement
2.  If the ending starts with a vowel, we usually take off
the e     eg.  movable, combining, celebration
3.  If the words end with ge or ce, we usually keep the
e for all endings except ing
     eg.  placement, changeable, edging, icing
